For more information about see the document about <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs-v2\/geodirectory\/account-management\/\">Account Management<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>User deleted posts<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If this option is checked, whenever a user deletes one of his listings, the entry will be preserved in the trash. If this option is unchecked, listings are deleted permanently.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New listing default status<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Allows to select the status for new listings submitted. Options are :<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Publish<\/li>\n<li>Pending Review<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you wish to moderate your free listings, select &#8220;Pending Review&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>[note: if the Pricing Manager is installed, this setting will not have effect on paid listings that are always immediately published.]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Google Maps API KEY <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you decide to use the Google Maps API key, you must enter an API key in this field. Fetching one using the &#8220;Generate API Key&#8221; button is the easiest method to get one. API Keys from your old projects may not work, because they could have some of the needed API disabled.<\/p>\n<h4>General Advance Settings<\/h4>\n<p>Following is the explanation of the options available under Advanced Settings<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"#register\" name=\"register\">Important<\/a> Allow posting without logging in?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If enabled, visitors will be able to post listings from the front-end without logging in first. If you want users to be able to register when they add a listing, this is an important option to check.<\/p>\n<p>When this setting is checked, an Email and Name field are added to the top of the add-listing form. The fields are required. When the form is filled in, a new user is created silently, in the background.<\/p>\n<p>A password is sent to the user for future usage, like for example to come back and edit his\/her listing. In that case they will need to log in.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Show preview button?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you want to make the add listing procedure faster by avoiding the listing preview step, you can disabled this option.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Max upload file size (in mb) <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"#file\" name=\"file\"><\/a>By default it is 2MB. You can increase it or decrease it here.<br \/>\nThis setting applies to all individual files uploaded to any GeoDirectory file field including images and logo and other custom file fields you may add to the listing.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Maps API<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Let&#8217;s you select which Maps provider to use or to disable maps. By default it is set to Automatic. It will use Google Maps API by default and Open Street Map if Google Maps is returning an error.<\/p>\n<p>The options available are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Automatic (recommended)<\/li>\n<li>Google Maps API<\/li>\n<li>OpenStreetMap API<\/li>\n<li>Disable Maps<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Default map language<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Allows to set the default language of your Maps.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Default marker icon<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Allows to upload a custom map marker.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Enable map cache<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Allows faster loading of Map Markers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Allow Usage Tracking?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Allow GeoDirectory to collect non-sensitive diagnostic data and usage information.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"#default-location\" name=\"default-location\">Default Location<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>You have two options for setting the default location. We recommend that you use the <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs-v2\/geodirectory\/getting-started\/setup-wizard\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Setup Wizard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In this section we cover how to set the default location when you do not have the location manager installed. If you do have the location manager installed, <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs-v2\/addons\/location-manager\/#default-location\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">check here instead<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Set Default Location in the Setup Wizard<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs-v2\/geodirectory\/getting-started\/setup-wizard\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Read more here about using the Setup wizard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Set Default Location in Settings<\/h4>\n<p>Find the default location subtab at<\/p>\n<p><strong>GeoDirectory &#8211; Settings &#8211; General (tab) &#8211; Default Location (subtab) &#8211; Show advanced<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Drag the map marker to the new default location, and save.<br \/>\nYou can also reveal the advanced options to manually enter more information.<\/p>\n<p>If the subtab is not visible that means you have the Location Manager addon installed; <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs-v2\/addons\/location-manager\/#default-location\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">check here for instructions for settings the default location with the Location Manager addon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Warning: If you do not have the Location Manager installed, you will not be able to edit listings that are outside the default location. The core GeoDirectory plugin is for creating a single city directory only. To add or edit listings outside the default location you will need the <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs-v2\/addons\/location-manager\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Location Manager addon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you have listings outside the default location, you can export them and then delete them from the site.<\/p>\n<h4>Default Location Advance Settings<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>City<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The default Location. After you fill in a city\/town\/village name here and click the &#8220;Set Address on Map&#8221; button, all other fields will be automatically filled with data fetched from the Maps API.<\/p>\n<p>All you need to do is verify that the information are correct.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Region<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The region of the default location<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Country<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Country of the default location<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>City Latitude<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The City Latitude coordinate. Must be in decimal numbers.<br \/>\nCorrect: -75.163598245369<br \/>\nWrong: 75\u00b008\u203241\u2033W<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Timezone <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The timezone is only necessary if the Location Manager is installed, to make sure that the Business Hours of each location can properly show the opening or closing sign.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"#pages\" name=\"pages\">Pages<\/a><\/h3>\n<h4>Page Settings<\/h4>\n<p>The following Page settings are essential to the functioning of GeoDirectory. The pages you set here are used by GD to create the various listing pages that will make up your site.<\/p>\n<p>The following GeoDirectory pages are created automatically when GeoDirectory is installed. However, if the pages have been deleted, simply create a new WordPress page and then return here to select it.<\/p>\n<p>In these settings you assign a page to each of the options available. The name of the page and the slug are not important for the purpose of GeoDirectory, only that each page setting is a unique page. You can use the WordPress Pages backend editor to to update existing pages with different titles or slugs to match better with your GeoDirectory site. After you save the settings here you can use the Edit or View buttons to update or visit the pages.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#front\" name=\"front\">Note<\/a>: The WordPress Static Front Page cannot be set to the same page as the GeoDirectory Search, Location, or template pages.<\/p>\n<p>GeoDirectory V2 uses shortcodes or Gutenberg blocks to produce what is shown in the Details, Archive, and Archive Item displays. Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs-v2\/geodirectory\/page-design\/\">Page Design<\/a> to learn more about the shortcodes used on each of these pages.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Location page<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Select the WordPress page to use for this setting. This must be set to an existing, unique page.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Add listing page<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Select the WordPress page to use for this setting. This must be set to an existing, unique page.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Terms and Conditions page<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Select the WordPress page to use for this setting. This must be set to an existing, unique page.<\/p>\n<h4>Template Page Settings<\/h4>\n<p>Template pages are used to design the respective pages and should never be linked to directly. As with the pages above, these settings are used to match WordPress Pages to GeoDirectory templates. You can change the title and slug to better fit your site. All pages must be unique and used for only one setting.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Details Page<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Select the WordPress page to use for this setting. This must be set to an existing, unique page.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Archive page<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Select the WordPress page to use for this setting. This must be set to an existing, unique page.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Archive item page<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Select the WordPress page to use for this setting. This must be set to an existing, unique page.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"#titles-and-meta\" id=\"titles-and-meta\">Titles &amp; Meta<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Here you can set the titles and meta info for your GeoDirectory pages. Click the tags to copy to clipboard then past with ctrl(cmd)-v or use your context menu.<\/p>\n<p><i class=\"fa fa-info-circle fa-2x\" style=\"color: orange;\"><\/i> If you are using Yoast, you can choose between GD&#8217;s Titles &amp; Meta settings or Yoast&#8217;s settings:<br \/>\n<img width=\"714\" height=\"174\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-488\" src=\"http:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs-v2\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2018\/06\/meta4.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs-v2\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2018\/06\/meta4.png 714w, https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs-v2\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2018\/06\/meta4-300x73.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 714px) 100vw, 714px\" \/><br \/>\nMost features on this page have three options. These will be described here in some detail and then the features will be listed out below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Title<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The title of the page, often visible to front end users of the site. Often shown in the browser or browser tab by most major browsers. Visible in the code of the page to browsers bu may be hidden from the visual display of the page in the browser by theme settings or custom CSS.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Meta Title <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The meta title is the &#8220;machine readable&#8221; and &#8220;SEO Friendly&#8221; title of the page, and may differ from the Title of the page. The meta title is often set to be 50-60 characters and generally contains more information than the Title. The meta title information is stored in the head data of the document. It can only appear once in an entire document and because of this it is a great place to store unique information about the page that elaborates on the title. The meta title is used by search engines to further categories the content of the page and is often used as a &#8216;snippet&#8217; to describe a page. The meta title is more about the unique contents of a page. Use the meta title to optimize the information about the page for consumption by search engines as part of your SEO strategy.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Meta Description<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The meta description, like the Meta Title, is only included once in the document, and should contain even more information about the unique content of the page. Enable to display searched parameters with title when searching for a custom field.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"#dummy-data\" name=\"dummy-data\">Dummy Data<\/a><\/h3>\n<h4>Dummy data installer<\/h4>\n<p>Use the Dummy Data installer to create dummy (fake) listings to quickly populate your GeoDiretory site. With dummy content in place you can see how the widgets, pages, and shortcodes look.<\/p>\n<p>Dummy content and real content can be mixed, too.
