The table below might help you find what you&#8217;re looking for.<\/p>\n<table border=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Addon<\/td>\n<td><a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/addons\">Extra plugin giving your GeoDirectory website advanced capabilities<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Backend<\/td>\n<td>The administration area of your website, usually only accessible to the administrators of your site<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Core<\/td>\n<td><a title=\"GeoDirectory Main Plugin \u2013 Overview\" href=\"\/docs\/core-overview\/\">GeoDirectory main plugin<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>CTP<\/td>\n<td><a href=\"\/docs\/places-categories-and-listings\/#ctp\">Custom Post Types<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a id=\"default-location\"><\/a>Default location<\/td>\n<td>A default location is essentially the first <a href=\"#location\">location (see below)<\/a> required to be entered into the system, and follows the Google Maps API.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Detail page<\/td>\n<td>The <a href=\"\/docs\/layout\/#detail\">detail template<\/a> is used to display all the detail of each of your listings.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>GD<\/td>\n<td>GeoDirectory<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>GDF<\/td>\n<td>GeoDirectory Framework (theme)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>GD page<\/td>\n<td>A page on your website based on a <a href=\"\/docs\/layout\/\">GD template<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Frontend<\/td>\n<td>The public part of your website, where users can add their listings and visitors can browse the site<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>InfoWindow<\/td>\n<td>An InfoWindow displays content (address and an image) in a popup window on the maps, at a given location. The info window\u00a0 attached to a specified location on the map.<br \/>\nSometimes also called a bubble or a map pop-up.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Listings page<\/td>\n<td>This is the template that will <a href=\"\/docs\/layout\/#listings\">display a list of all listings<\/a> in a particular category or custom post type, and will show different listings depending on location and category requested.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a id=\"location\"><\/a>Location<\/td>\n<td>Refers to cities (towns or villages etc), regions (states or provinces etc) and countries<br \/>\nFor every location in your database there will be a separate page created automatically<br \/>\nThese locations are based on the Google Maps API, and the size of cities (towns, suburbs or villages etc depending on the country) can vary greatly from country to country.<br \/>\nYour locations need to be therefore always <em><strong>city &gt; region &gt; country<\/strong><\/em>, exactly like Google suggests when you add a listing from the frontend.<br \/>\nFor example\u00a0<em><strong>Los Angeles &gt; California &gt; Unites States<\/strong><\/em> [<strong>not<\/strong> LA &gt; CA &gt; US].<br \/>\nIf your site is not in English, <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs\/translating-countries-and-map-directions\/\">change the map language<\/a> <em><strong>before<\/strong><\/em> checking location format on your Add Listing page.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Non-GD\u00a0page<\/td>\n<td>A page on your website created without using a GD template, for example a normal WordPress page, or a BuddyPress page etc<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Places<\/td>\n<td>Places is the default name for the default Custom Posts created by the basic GD plugin.<br \/>\nPlaces does <em><strong>not<\/strong><\/em> refer to locations like cities etc, but refers to businesses etc<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Users<\/td>\n<td>People that have registered a user account on your WordPress website<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Visitors<\/td>\n<td>People that are visiting your website but do not have a user account on your WordPress website, or are not logged in<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>WP<\/td>\n<td>You guessed it: WordPress<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You will find a lot of terms and abbreviation throughout the documentation and the admin area of GeoDirectory, and the meaning of some of them might not directly be clear.
