These are listed below.<\/li>\n<li>In the Pages section of your WP admin dashboard, you can change the title and the slug of the page. Also, <em><strong>do not<\/strong><\/em> move the pages under a parent!<\/li>\n<li>GD Page content is provided by GeoDirectory. Any content added to body of these pages will be ignored by GeoDirectory.<\/li>\n<li>Generally, the <em><strong>public directory pages<\/strong><\/em> can be modified by firstly <a href=\"\/docs\/core-design\/\">selecting which sections you want to use<\/a>, and then by adding widgets to those sections.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Directory pages:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"#home\">GD Home page &#8211; for all locations<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#search\">GD Search<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#detail\">GD Detail &#8211; for each individual listing<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#author\">GD Author page &#8211; where the user can find links to edit their listings etc<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Directory management pages:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"#add\">Add Listing &#8211; to add all types of listings<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#preview\">Listing Preview &#8211; to check submission before paying and\/or publishing<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#checkout\">GD Checkout &#8211; used with Payments Manager only<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#success\">Listing Success &#8211; shown on completion of the submission process<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#info\">GD Info<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#invoice\">Manage Invoices &#8211; page where your users can review their payments<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Other GD pages:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"#login\">GD Login<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><a name=\"directory\"><\/a>Directory pages<\/h3>\n<p>Here are links to more details of the different templates further down the page:<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"#home\">Home<\/a>\u00a0 |\u00a0 <a href=\"#listings\">Listings<\/a>\u00a0 |\u00a0 <a href=\"#search\">Search<\/a> | <a href=\"#detail\">Detail<\/a>\u00a0 |\u00a0 <a href=\"#author\">Author<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/wp-design.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"618\" height=\"79\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><a id=\"typical\"><\/a>Typical layout<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Below is a standard layout of a WordPress site, using the GeoDirectory plugin.<\/li>\n<li>All the GD directory pages are based on this layout.<\/li>\n<li>The default Design settings only use the <em><strong>GD Right Section<\/strong><\/em> and not the <em><strong>GD Left Section<\/strong><\/em>, because that is the most common layout.<\/li>\n<li>Also, the <em><strong>GD Bottom Section<\/strong><\/em> is not enabled by default, although this section allows you to add content to the bottom of your GD pages you maybe do not want in the footer section of your non-GD pages.<\/li>\n<li>You can adjust the settings for these by going to <em><strong>WP Admin<\/strong><\/em> &gt; <em><strong>GeoDirectory<\/strong><\/em> &gt; <em><strong>Design<\/strong><\/em> and <a title=\"GD Core Plugin \u2013 Design options\" href=\"\/docs\/core-design\/\">this article details the settings<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<table class=\"layout\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center; background-color: #66cc66;\" colspan=\"3\"><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">Header section<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Part of your theme: logo, header menu etc<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"background-color: #ffff99; text-align: center;\" colspan=\"3\"><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">GD Top section<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Use GD widgets here like map, popular categories etc<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"background-color: #ffff99; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">GD Left section<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Used for sidebar widgets<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/td>\n<td style=\"background-color: #ffff99; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">GD Content section<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">This content will vary depending on whether this is your GD home page, GD Listings page, GD Detail page or GD Search page<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/td>\n<td style=\"background-color: #ffff99; text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">GD Right section<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Used for sidebar widgets<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"background-color: #ffff99; text-align: center;\" colspan=\"3\"><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">GD Bottom section<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center; background-color: #66cc66;\" colspan=\"3\"><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">Footer section<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Part of your theme: footer menus, copyright text etc<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h4><a name=\"home\"><\/a>GD Home page<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>This is the home page for your GeoDirectory. You tell GeoDirectory which page is the GD Home at GD > Permalinks > GD Home.<\/li>\n<li>Some GeoDirectory themes with links to &#8220;home&#8221; will redirect users to this page, even if it is not set as your WordPress static home page.<\/li>\n<li>You can set WordPress > Reading > Static Front Page to this same page, if you want your GeoDirectory page to also be the front page of your site. You can also use a different pages for your WordPress Front Page and the GD Home. Some members choose to use different pages so they can create a customized Front Page with a builder and add specific widgets or shortcodes that are not display on the GD Home and Location pages.<\/li>\n<li>See <a href=\"\/docs\/basic-installation\/#home\"><i class=\"fa fa-folder-open fa-2x\" style=\"color: orange;\"><\/i> the basic installation documentation about setup.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The GD Home page is a WordPress page, but any content added to the page content area is ignored by GeoDirectory. To add content to GD Home, you will need to add Widgets at WP > Appearance > Widgets.<\/li>\n<li>GD Home is also the template used for each of the locations in your GD installation (including countries, regions and cities).<\/li>\n<li>Normally, you&#8217;d want the map in the top section, as you see at the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/wordpressmu-3822-8567-17899.cloudwaysapps.com\/try-geodirectory\" target=\"_blank\">GD demo<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Without the Location Manager addon, you will only have one location.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>yoursite.com\/location<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0will show all listings<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>yoursite.com\/location\/belgium<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0will show all listings in Belgium<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>yoursite.com\/location\/united-kingdon\/greater-london<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0will show all listings in\u00a0Greater London<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>yoursite.com\/location\/italy\/lombardia\/milano<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0will show all listings in\u00a0Milan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><a name=\"gdhome\"><\/a>GD Home<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><a name=\"gdlocation\"><\/a>Location Page Layout Options (using the GD Home Template)<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>The location page is used to display listings for each location.<\/li>\n<li>Each location, whether it is a country, region, city or neighborhood will display using the location page.<\/li>\n<li>GD Home is actually the location &#8220;everywhere&#8221; and so sorts and shows all the listings.<\/li>\n<li>The Location page uses the same widget settings as the GD Home Page. When you add widgets to your home page, they will also be displayed on the Location page.<\/li>\n<li>With the Location Manager Addon you can add the <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs\/location-manager-shortcodes\/#pop\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Popular Locations shortcodes<\/a> for displaying a list of your locations to drive visitors to location pages. You can also create direct links manually for special menus, <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs\/location-manager-widgets\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">add the Location Switcher widget<\/a>, or the <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs\/multilocations\/#main\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Location Switcher Menu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>When you add widgets or shortcodes to your Home\/Location page, you should consider checking &#8220;filter results for location&#8221; when available, so only the listings for the particular location will be shown.&#8221;\n<li><a href=\"\/docs\/location-manager-shortcodes\/\"><i class=\"fa fa-folder-open fa-2x\" style=\"color: orange;\"><\/i> Read more about Location Manager Shortcodes<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><a name=\"listings\"><\/a>GD Listings page<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>This is the template that will display a list of all listings in a particular category or custom post type, and will show different listings depending on location and category requested.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>yoursite.com\/attractions<\/strong><\/em> will show all listed attractions<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>yoursite.com\/hotels\/finland<\/strong><\/em> will show all listed hotels in Finland<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><a name=\"search\"><\/a>GD Search page<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>You guessed it, this is the page displaying the result of a GD search.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><a name=\"detail\"><\/a>GD Detail page<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>The detail template is used to display all the detail of each of your listings.<\/li>\n<li>It will display all the information one of your users has submitted about their place, business, organisation or event etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><a name=\"author\"><\/a>GD Author page<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>This is the page displaying content specific to your users when they are logged in; it is your users&#8217; dashboard.<\/li>\n<li>It will list their favorite listings and\/or events, and the listings they have submitted themselves.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i class=\"fa fa-folder-open fa-2x\" style=\"color: orange;\"><\/i> <a title=\"GD Core Plugin \u2013 Design options\" href=\"\/docs\/core-design\/\">Keep reading here to find more detail on the settings<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"manage\"><\/a>Directory management pages<\/h3>\n<h4><a name=\"add\"><\/a>Add Listing<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>This page is only available to registered users.<\/li>\n<li>Different <em><strong>Add Listing<\/strong> <\/em>pages will be created for each Custom Post Type.<\/li>\n<li>You can also create this page with <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/docs\/core-shortcodes\/#add-listing\">shortcodes<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><a name=\"preview\"><\/a>Listing Preview<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Once a user has entered all data, this page allows for a review, and for changes to be made if required.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><a name=\"checkout\"><\/a>GD Checkout<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>If charging a fee for submissions using the <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/downloads\/payments-manager\/\">Payments Manager<\/a>, the user will be taken to this page once they reviewed their submitted data.<\/li>\n<li>For free listings, this page gets by-passed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><a name=\"success\"><\/a>Listing Success<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>This is the last page in the free submission process, and provides a link to the newly created listing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><a name=\"info\"><\/a>GD Info<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>This page is used to display\u00a0messages like payment received etc.<\/li>\n<li>For paid listings, it will display payment received details etc, and provide a link to the\u00a0newly created listing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><a name=\"invoice\"><\/a>Manage Invoices<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>This page lists all invoices of a user if you are using\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/downloads\/payments-manager\/\">Payments Manager<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>This page uses the GD Author right sidebar.<\/li>\n<li>Example:<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/page1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"681\" height=\"185\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><a name=\"other\"><\/a>Other GD pages<\/h3>\n<h4><a name=\"login\"><\/a>GD Login<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>This is used for both registration and login in a default setup.<\/li>\n<li>If using the <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/downloads\/buddypress-integration\/\">Buddypress registration<\/a>, it will only be used for login.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On this page: Introduction Directory pages Directory management pages Other GD pages Introduction When you activate GD on your site, GD will create some extra pages.
