It is a setting on each post type, and it is easy to tick by accident because it sits among the advanced settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Turn frontend adding back on<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to Places &gt; Settings &gt; General (or the same screen for your other post type, such as Events &gt; Settings &gt; General).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Show Advanced at the top of the settings so the advanced options appear. <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/article\/core-features\/hidden-advanced-settings\/\">Hidden Advanced Settings<\/a> explains the toggle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Untick Disable frontend add.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save, then reload your Add Listing page.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If the setting is already unticked<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check the link you followed. A URL such as <code>\/add-listing\/?listing_type=gd_place<\/code> asks for a specific post type. If that post type does not exist or is misspelled, you will get &#8220;The listing type is invalid or does not exist.&#8221; instead.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the Default Post Type setting on the GD &gt; Add Listing block or shortcode on that page. If it names a post type that has frontend adding disabled, the form will not load.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure GeoDirectory &gt; Settings &gt; General &gt; Pages has your page selected as the Add listing page. <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/article\/first-steps\/create-an-add-listing-page\/\">Create an &#8220;Add Listing&#8221; Page<\/a> walks through setting it up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the page title shows a raw placeholder such as <code>%%pt_single%%<\/code>, that is usually the same problem: the page is not set as the Add listing page, or the form could not find a post type to load.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GeoDirectory shows this message on the Add Listing page when the post type being added has frontend submissions switched off.
