Each GeoDirectory category has its own map marker, and GeoDirectory can generate one from a Font Awesome icon and a colour. You can also upload any image you like as the marker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Let GeoDirectory generate the marker<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to Places &gt; Place Categories and edit a category.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leave Map Icon empty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose a Category Icon and a Category Color.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Update. The category&#8217;s listings now use a marker made from that icon and colour.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Upload your own marker image<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To use an image instead, click Select Icon under Map Icon on the category and choose an image from the media library. A small PNG with a transparent background works best. Free map pin icons are easy to find on icon sites, so check the licence allows use on your site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The default marker<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Listings in a category without a marker use the default marker icon.
