If Write a Review does nothing, or the review form is missing, the listings were probably saved with comments closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This often happens with imported listings. Each new listing takes the &#8220;Allow people to submit comments on new posts&#8221; setting from Settings > Discussion as it was at the moment the listing was created. Changing that setting later only affects listings you add after the change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Open comments on existing listings in bulk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to Places > All Places (or the list for your other post type).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have many listings, open Screen Options at the top and raise the number of items per page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tick the box at the top of the list to select every listing on the page, choose Edit from the Bulk actions menu and click Apply.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the bulk edit panel, set Comments to Allow and click Update.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Repeat this for each page of listings and for each post type.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With thousands of listings, WP-CLI is quicker. This command opens comments on every Places listing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-prismatic-blocks\"><code class=\"language-bash\">wp post update $(wp post list --post_type=gd_place --format=ids) --comment_status=open<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Change <code>gd_place<\/code> to the post type you need, for example <code>gd_event<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Check the post type settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Go to Places > Settings > General and click Show Advanced. Make sure Disable comments is unticked.
