The variable is the field key with an underscore in front, between double percent signs. For a field with the key <code>metro<\/code>, that is <code>%%_metro%%<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Find the field key<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Go to Places > Settings > Custom Fields, open the field and look at its Key setting. Use the key exactly as it appears there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GeoDirectory&#8217;s own titles and meta<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to GeoDirectory > Settings > General > Titles &amp; Meta.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the Single post pages section, add the variable to Meta Title or Meta Description, for example <code>%%title%% %%sep%% %%_metro%%<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the listing has no value for that field, the variable is replaced with nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Yoast SEO and Rank Math<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Yoast SEO or Rank Math handles your meta tags, GeoDirectory adds its variables to that plugin with a <code>_gd_<\/code> prefix. For the custom field above, the Yoast variable is <code>%%_gd__metro%%<\/code> (two underscores, one from the prefix and one from the field).
