{"id":2760,"date":"2026-10-20T08:36:23","date_gmt":"2026-10-20T07:36:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/article\/limit-number-of-listings-per-user\/"},"modified":"2026-10-20T08:39:19","modified_gmt":"2026-10-20T07:39:19","slug":"limit-number-of-listings-per-user","status":"publish","type":"gd_place","link":"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/article\/core-features\/limit-number-of-listings-per-user\/","title":{"rendered":"How to limit the number of listings each user can add"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GeoDirectory can limit how many listings each user adds, separately for each post type:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to Places &gt; Settings &gt; General (or the settings of another post type).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Show Advanced if you don&#8217;t see the Author page section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Limit Posts Per User, enter the number of listings allowed, for example 1.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Leave it blank or enter 0 for no limit. Enter -1 to stop users adding listings of that post type at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When a user reaches the limit, the add listing page shows a message such as &#8220;You have reached the limit of places you can add at this time.&#8221; in place of the form. Administrators are never limited. The limit also applies to listings created through the GeoDirectory REST API.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Different limits for each price package<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the Pricing Manager add-on, every package has its own Limit Posts Per User setting, so you can allow one listing on a free package and more on paid ones. See <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/article\/pricing-manager-extension\/how-to-add-a-new-pricing-package\/\">How to add a new pricing package<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Limits count listings per user account.
