Every location URL on your site is shown through that one page, so you change the layout by editing the page and the blocks or shortcodes in it.

Edit the location page

Go to GeoDirectory > Settings > General > Pages and note which page is selected as the Location page (it is called Location, with the slug
location
, unless you changed it).

Open that page in the WordPress editor.

Add, remove or move GeoDirectory blocks. If you use the classic editor, you work with shortcodes instead.

Update the page. Every location URL now uses the new layout.

The default content is a notifications area, the categories list, a directory map, the search bar and a listings block. As shortcodes it looks like this:

[gd_notifications]
[gd_categories]
[gd_map map_type='directory' width=100% height=300 search_filter=1 cat_filter=1 post_type_filter=1]
[gd_search]
[gd_listings post_limit=10 add_location_filter='1']

You can also design the page with a page builder. See Design or customize GeoDirectory pages for the options.

Content that changes with the location

With the Location Manager add-on, each country, region and city gets its own URL on the location page, and blocks can filter by the location being viewed. In GD > Listings, keep “Enable location filter?” ticked so the listings shown belong to that location.

Location Manager also adds blocks made for this page. GD > Location Description shows the text you write for each location, GD > Location Meta outputs location details, and GD > Locations links to other cities or regions.

Location pages and post type archives

A location page shows one location across all your post types. A post type archive, such as your Places page, shows a single post type and can also be filtered by location. We recommend using the location page as the home page of each location, with links to the archives for visitors who want the full list.

There is no setting to stop location pages being generated. If you are not ready for search engines to index them, add a noindex rule as described in No index directives on all or some GD pages.

The GeoDirectory location page is a normal WordPress page that works as a template.
