With Zoom level set to Auto, a map fits itself to the listings it shows. To start visitors at their own location, have them search near their position: the search results page then lists the listings around them, and a map on that page shows the same area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Near: My Location in the search bar<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Near field of the GeoDirectory search bar offers &#8220;Near: My Location&#8221;. The browser asks the visitor to share their position, and the search returns listings within your radius of that point. Browsers only allow location sharing on sites served over HTTPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The radius is set in GeoDirectory &gt; Settings &gt; General &gt; Search, &#8220;Search near radius&#8221;. With the Advanced Search add-on, visitors can pick their own distance if you add the Search By Distance field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Near Me button<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Location Manager add-on has a <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/article\/location-manager\/gd-near-me-button\/\">GD &gt; Near Me Button<\/a> block you can place anywhere, for example above your map. One click shares the visitor&#8217;s position and loads the listings near them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Things to know<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Results near the visitor are limited by the radius, so they aren&#8217;t the same as the listings of the city they are in.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visitors can widen the view again by searching another place or choosing a location in the <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/article\/location-manager\/gd-location-switcher\/\">Location Switcher<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For a map on the search results page, add a GD &gt; Map block with Map type set to Auto to the page set as Search Page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GeoDirectory maps don&#8217;t move to the visitor&#8217;s position on their own.
