To get started, you need to head over to <strong>Settings &#8211;&gt; General (tab) &#8211;&gt; Dummy Data (sub-tab).&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-blockstrap-blockstrap-widget-alert d-flex align-items-center fade show alert alert-info mb-3\" role=\"alert\"><span class=\"fas fa-info-circle me-2\"><\/span><span class=\"flex-grow-1\">Dummy data is useful if you want to quickly populate a site for client review or to see how GeoDirectory manages content types.<\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding Dummy Data to GeoDirectory<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-blockstrap-blockstrap-widget-container mb-3 bg-image-fixed list-group list-group-flush list-group-numbered\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-blockstrap-blockstrap-widget-container mb-0 border-0 bg-image-fixed list-group-item\">\n<p>You will need to <strong>select the data type<\/strong> for each CPT that you wish to import as dummy data. You can also <strong>set the number of items to import.<\/strong> For instance, we are selecting the &#8220;Property for Sale&#8221; data type for our Places CPT and importing 10 items:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/file-WDc83scg0a-1024x311.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>&#8220;Update page templates&#8221;<\/strong> option will update the template pages to be able to show specific custom info. For eg, price for dummy data if it includes prices, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-blockstrap-blockstrap-widget-alert d-flex align-items-center fade show alert alert-danger mb-3\" role=\"alert\"><span class=\"fas fa-exclamation-triangle me-2\"><\/span><span class=\"flex-grow-1\">If you have made custom changes to the archive item or details page templates, &#8220;Update page templates&#8221; will override them.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-blockstrap-blockstrap-widget-container mb-0 border-0 bg-image-fixed list-group-item\">\n<p>Thereafter, you just need to click <strong>&#8220;Insert Posts&#8221;,<\/strong> and GeoDirectory will take care of the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-blockstrap-blockstrap-widget-alert d-flex align-items-center fade show alert alert-info mb-3\" role=\"alert\"><span class=\"fas fa-info-circle me-2\"><\/span><span class=\"flex-grow-1\">Installing the Advanced Search addon before starting dummy data import will add extra search fields to non-default data types.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-blockstrap-blockstrap-widget-container mb-0 border-0 bg-image-fixed list-group-item\">\n<p>Once you are done building your site, to remove dummy data, you may simply click the <strong>&#8220;Remove Data&#8221;<\/strong> button on the same page:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/file-Vq6BYTklMb.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s all.
