When installed and activated, Events Manager adds its own Custom Post Type <strong>&#8220;Events&#8221;. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tThe Events CPT has its own set of event-centric fields, as well as custom taxonomies such as <strong>Event Tags <\/strong>and <strong>Event Categories. <\/strong>However, you can also set any CPT as an Events CPT. You will need the Custom Post Types extension to add the said CPT before setting it as an Events CPT.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<section class=\"alert alert-info\">\n\tIn order to follow the instructions in this doc, you will need to install and activate both the <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/downloads\/events\/\">Events<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/downloads\/custom-post-types\/\">Custom Post Types<\/a> extensions.<\/section>\n<h2>Making any CPT an Events CPT<\/h2>\n<dl>\n<dt>1<\/dt>\n<dd>\n\tFirst, navigate to <strong>GD &gt; Settings &gt; Post Types. <br \/>\n\t<\/strong> <\/dd>\n<p>\t<img width=\"849\" height=\"495\" src=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/file-hTxfFbPOAQ.png\" class=\"attachment-large size-large\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/file-hTxfFbPOAQ.png 849w, https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/file-hTxfFbPOAQ-300x175.png 300w, https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/file-hTxfFbPOAQ-768x448.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 849px) 100vw, 849px\" \/><\/p>\n<dt>2<\/dt>\n<dd>\n\tTherein, depending on your requirements, you may choose to <a href=\"https:\/\/wpgeodirectory.com\/documentation\/article\/custom-post-types-extension\/how-to-add-a-new-custom-post-type\/\">add a new CPT<\/a> (to be used as an Events CPT) or make an existing CPT as an Events CPT. To add a new CPT, click the <strong>Add New <\/strong>button. Alternatively, to make an existing CPT an Events CPT, click the <strong>Edit <\/strong>button under the said CPT&#8217;s name (visible on hover).
