I’m using three tiers of categories for gd_place, but am running into the issue of only being able to select the first two tiers using the Ajax Chained option while adding a listing. Right now I first select the top-level category, which generates the second tier dropdown, but once that is selected there is no way to select any of the third tier options.

Is it possible to have the third tier dropdown populate after selecting a second tier category?

no it is limited to category and sub category.
