In this thread https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/just-the-map-and-nothing-else/ there’s a post mentioning “the home map shows all listings from all categories. There is no way to change that.”

Is this because there’s no feature that allows for easy access to change, or is it because of technical reasons that tweaking the page will disrupt the search function?

I’m really looking forward to posting a body of content below my map and would like to make this happen.

Thanks for clarifying!

If possible, would love ideas to work around this tech problem. I’m thinking of coding my own HTML page with the geodirectory search in place and content below, or tweaking some sort of file in cPanel that will allow me to change the home page HTML. I’m not entirely sure what’s going to happen, but long-term I’m going to find a way to do so 😛 (Another idea would be to have my own home page that clicks to the geodirectory search)

1. use another homepage than the directory home page
2. you want a map on the top, and
3. content below it.

1. Use the page of your choice for the website homepage at WP Settings > Reading
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#home

2. Add this shortcode to your page: [gd_homepage_map]
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-shortcodes/#locationmap

3. Add the rest of your content on the page.

I am not sure I understood correctly, not sure you have a question about the map itself or not. Let us know.
