This would be pretty common for listing owners to want to do…. for example a custom post type of “Job”… to allow the owner to remove the listing once the position has been filled… or for a “car” advert… to allow the listing to be removed/mark draft once it’s sold.

They cannot de-activate as such, ie they cannot set to draft. But they can edit or delete.
