I saw the “CSV upload” area in geodirectory. I downloaded the sample csv file and took a look at it. I have most of the information, except the google map coordinates. Do I simply just delete the dummy data in the sample csv file (place_listing.csv) and replace it with my information and then upload the file?

Do I just leave the google maps coordinates column blank? Is this fine?

Is it okay to be working in excel 2010 to modify the sample csv file?

Is there any specific name that the file should be saved as before uploading?

Is there any special considerations that need to be made before uploading my database?

All help is appreciated. Thanks.

It answered most of my questions. A few more questions:

1.
Does the name of the file matter?

2.
Regarding post_latitude and post_longitude. I noticed that page said that it was manditory. Can geodirectory auto generate these somehow? I have a database of 4000 businesses with addresses. The links provided for generating coordinates do not have any batching options.

No
2. The second link has a batch option:

GD can only auto-generate if you add listings one by one.
