what kind of notification are you talking about? when a user register via buddypress, wordpress sends a notification to the website admin by default, are you getting any other notification? For example when someone leaves a comment on any of your posts or pages?

if you are not getting emails for registration, you will probably aren’t getting any emails from wordpress at all.

I repeat the question:

Do you get an email when someone leaves a comment on any of your posts or pages?

Many fixed using a SMTP plugin.

If you don’t, plase contact your server admin, as this is not something we can solve for you.
