Can't delete custom fields that I created

Hi there
I can’t seem to delete custom fields that I created. I’m not referring to the default fields which I know cannot be deleted but only hidden. I’ve tried deactivation them but still no luck. The “X” on the UI is grey as opposed to the red x that appeared on those fields I was able to delete.
Any ideas?

Hi,

What field can’t you delete?

Normally, if the X is grey, it’s a predefined field, custom fields have the red cross and can be deleted.

Hi Paolo
There are several. As an example though, I have set up a name “Special Offers” which I want to delete. I have made it inactive but the x is stilled greyed out and I can’t delete it. There are no listings with “Special Offers” content either. It’s weird because I was able to delete several others that I have decided not to use.
