Custom Post Type Shortcode SortBy Limitation for Multi-day Events

Instead of creating yearly post for a yearly event I thought I would create single post and use recurring dates. This event is a multiple day event every November. I ran into two problems.

When I connect a place to an event. The places (Events) tab shows each Individual Day as a separate Event Listing. (I suppose not horrible since still only one listing (ideally it would take into account multi-day events versus forcing each day to be a different event in the linked custom posts shortcode.

Also Note: I had to use a shortcode because your default Tag custom field only allows a maximum of 5 links posts. (there is no way to set this in the Settings for that custom field (only name and optional icon). It would be nice to have at least that option without being forced to use custom code.

Lastly, most importantly, I need a sort by option for Z to A not just A to Z which may solve my problem. Ideally, I would like a way to sort by Date (for Event Types) by date both newest to oldest and oldest to newest. Currently my multi day events list starts with the oldest events years and years ago first and I would prefer to show the Future (newest) events first versus multiple years past (oldest) events.

I hope this an easy adjustment.
