Display all listings for current CPT on listings map

Hi,

I need the map on my listing pages to show ALL the listings for the current CPT on the map, not just the ones listed on the page.

I understand this is a feature that is apparently being worked on, but with no idea of when it will be completed, I cannot delay the launch of my site waiting for that.

I figure it’s not too difficult of a modification as the homepage map already does this, but it does not load the current CPT.

Any response is appreciated.

This is not being worked on and it’s not an easy mod, because both the map and list are using the same query. Having different result would require 2 queries and that would make loading time of the page at least twice as long.

This would require a customization and it’s something we are not interested in doing.

It is possible to add the GD Home Map widget to the GD Listings template, that will show all your listings then. I am not sure if that leads to other problems but I tested it and it is possible.

Thank you for your responses.

Guust, I have tried using the homepage map on the listing page as a solution, but only one problem remains, which is it only loads the default CPT set in the GeoD settings, not the CPT of the listing page that it’s on.

If there is a way around this one issue, that would solve everything! Please let me know.

It does load the other CPTs, but you just got to swap CPTs using the bottom ribbon, just like on any other location page.

I needed to to load automatically. I figured a solution by modifying the maps_template_tags.php file and changing the default CPT to get_current_posttype() function.

This was easy mod and works great without any load issues.

Nice to hear you found a workaround. 🙂

I would suggest to create a custom widget for that instead of modding core files or next update you’ll have to re-apply your changes.
