Are events removed from the directory after they have passed the date they occur on?

For instance if an event occurs on the 18th and I list it on the 1st and my site is set to expire a listing after 365 days will the event hang around after it is already over?

It seems to make more sense if the events expired after the date they are listed on and billing could be done a – time they are on the site – basis.

I could set a $10 per week price or something similar then when someone entered the date for the event to be listed for and the site calculated the price based on how far away that date is it would be awesome.
