    Hi,
I am going to be using GD for a Classified Ads site. I don’t want expired or deleted listings and all their associated media files to pile up on my system.
It will cost a lot to keep all those unnecessary files on my site and I think it may affect my speed also.

So I found 2 plugins that might help:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/autoremove-attachments/
    and
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/dx-delete-attached-media/

Do I need to use any of these? If yes, which one would you recommend?

Also, under GeoDirectory, Settings, Listing Settings, User Deleted Post, if you tick the box, it says ‘ If checked a user deleted post will go to trash, otherwise it will be permanently deleted’

I don’t understand this. So if a user deletes a post, then it will go to trash. And if it is not deleted, then it will be permanenetly deleted? Are they talking about the expired ads? So GD has a built – in system to automatically permanently eradicate deleted and expired listings? Does this include the associated media files also? So those files won’t take up any space on my site?

    Please clarify.

    Thank you.

‘If checked a user deleted post will go to trash, otherwise it will be permanently deleted’ will delete all data so it cannot be restored.
So yes, that should do what you want.
I am not sure it also deletes the images, I will get the developers to confirm that.
    Thanks

    Hello Sim,

Are you using GeoDirectory v1 or v2?

It deletes images when listing is permanently deleted from backend. It does not deletes images on uninstall plugin.
