Hello,
after your update we have lost our Italian translation files, as the plugin update deleted the files on server? I have restored one file, but it is not complete and we now need to do the same job twice and pay twice for translations…

Hi Edgar,

The plugin is updated like every single plugin, yes the old files are deleted that is why we provide a translation guide so you can stop this from removing your translation files http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/translate-core/

Your files are not translated on the server so must have been uploaded from somewhere, please reupload them following the translation guide.

But there is absolutely no logic in this, as language files should always be in the same directory as plugin or theme. We are using “loco-translate” for translation and if i move the files under /wp-content/languages it doesn’t recognize anymore, that GeoDirectory has a translation?

Hi edgar, please google the subject, this happens all the time and is complained about all the time, i would call it a wordpress fault… That is why we recommend doing it this way, the loco-translate looks good but stores the files in the plugin folder, i would ask them how they deal with plugin update, i would also ask you to read the link below and show it to them, if they could get there plugin to scan the right folders then it could be very good.
