I just want the text to always say “postcode searching”. I am not interested in people knowing how far away the childcare centre is so I don’t want the near me operational. How can I turn this off. Is there also a way I can get rid of the little navigational symbol in the search box.

I also find it annoying how when people click on “Childcare Centres” on my sites homepage that it goes to http://www.mummyweekly.com.au/find_add_childcare/ and people start looking at that page only to have it jump to the Geo Directory Home page. I don’t want the GD home page active if its going to interrupt people. Its creating a little confusion for my readers.

Can you please help me to work out a way around this?

if you are not using any advance search filters, you should simply disable the advance search addon.

Otherwise please go to GeoDirectory >> Advance Search and disable:

1) If an option is selected, the autocompleter for Near is enabled.
2) If this option is selected, users will not be auto geolocated on first load.
3) If this option is selected, users will be asked if they with to be geolocated via a popup

To hide the compass add this to your custom css:

.fa-compass {
    display: none;
}
