I seem to have an plugin incompatibility with Geodirectory and granting access to other users to my WordPress site.

If I set up a user as Administrator in WP, they can log in and see the WP-Admin menu. However, if I set them up as an Editor or Author, they are just re-routed back to my homepage and can’t access the WP-Admin menu.

I’ve spent some time experimenting with deactivating plugins and testing which one was the problem and it seems to be Geodirectory (main plugin). When I deactivate it and log in as Editor role, the screen appears.

Is there some code within the plugin that references roles?

Is there a workaround that I can use as I urgently need to give a user access other than Administrator so that they process some entries for me.

But I also will get the developers to look at your question, to see whether there is an easier way to allow Editors access to WP admin as well, when GD general access is set not to access WP admin.

no, there isn’t.

It’s either everyone, or only admin.

You may want to disable the GD option and find a workaround with a plugin, like Guust said..

GD > General > general > Allow user to see wp-admin area > YES
and then use another plugin that regulates who can have access to the Admin area.
You might find that also suits your purpose already, without a further plugin, as normal GD users should not have access to anything but their own stuff if you set new users role as Subscriber.
