I’m just wondering, how do other people set up their search system to make it actually useful for visitors? From what I can see, mine is not all that easy to navigate.

As an example, say someone visited http://www.thehouseofdog.co.uk/accommodation/ and searched for just ‘peak district’ (there is a listing at http://www.thehouseofdog.co.uk/accommodation/united-kingdom/derbyshire-1/bakewell/dog-friendly-holiday-cottages-self-catering-uk-europe/haddon-barn-dog-friendly-cottage-in-bakewell-derbyshire-sleeps-4-plus-2-dogs/ which contains the word ‘Peak District’ within the listing, nothing shows up. Search for Derbyshire and it does, but nothing for Peak District, which is a very common thing I imagine a lot of countryside walkers would search for.

I’m obviously doing something wrong, but I’m not sure what. I thought if the keyword was in the listing, it would appear in the search results. So why does a listing like this get missed off? There are actually about 4 listings, all within the peak district area if you look on the map, but none show up when searching for peak district.

Thanks

Sally

only if they input Peak District in the “Search for” field it will work that way:

http://www.thehouseofdog.co.uk/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_accommodation&s=Peak+District&snear=&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=

Peak District is a keyword within the listing content, not part of the location system.

Thanks
