Is There a way to select place category when adding custom fields

In geotheme when we used to add custom fields there used to be an option to select certain categories for specific custom field to display in advanced search. There seems to be no such option in geodirectory… Is there a way to achieve this? and if so please help me because this is very important to my website.

Hi,

GeoDirectory does the same, but instead of “per category” it is done “per custom post type”.

But will it not create duplication problem if the same place applies for two categories. For example a restaurant can be a pub as well. So i will have to add the same place twice in two different custom post types.

ok I think I got confused by terminology used.

GeoTheme doesn’t add custom fields in advance search.

It creates sorting filters in category pages. You can do the same for GeoDirectory, but currently you can’t restrict the filter to only selected categories. It will be available for all categories within that custom post type.

I’ll ask to the developers to look into extending the options similar to geotheme.
