Please could anyone confirm, do I have to have the layout shown at http://wpgeo.directory/ as my homepage? Because I’m trying to avoid that. I already have an existing site, so I’d rather create a new page ie something like thehouseofdog.co.uk/accommodationlistings to add this sort of layout to. I’m a bit scared of installing the plugin just in case it wipes my existing homepage out!

I don’t mind having the layout shown at that link on the thehouseofdog.co.uk/accommodationlistings url, although I’m not actually sure how to use this layout instead of my usual template just on this page?

Any advice would be great! Smile

There is a setting in backend to make GD home page as ur site home page and it is unchecked by default when u install the plugin, so plz dont get worry about the overridden of home page template until u check that option.
Geodirectory > Design > ‘Set geodirectory home page as your home’

One thing, I can’t seem to find where the alternative page is? I mean with all the geodirectory map, listings and search bars on?

All I can find is places and location, but these don’t actually appear to be real pages? I tried making a new page and adding the [widget id=”geodir_map_v3_home_map-1″] shortcode I found in the widget, but that doesn’t display anything.

I can’t seem to find a tutorial or documentation anywhere on this.

Please can you help?

I don’t want to alter the homepage at all.. at the moment it is set to display latest posts as it’s also a doggie news site?
