I recently purchased all of the Framework and Add-Ons in order to try to set up a new site based around “days out” for UK users.

I am a web designer by trade, so don’t have a problem with developing the theme, but I am struggling to get the back end to be set up with the desired structure.

Basically, the site needs to have the following:

12 Attraction Types (e.g. Theme Parks, Museums, Play Centres)
All UK Counties and Towns list (Cheshire, Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn)

I need the site to be heavily breadcrumbed (I am not interested in the Map on the homepage)

If you look at http://www.daysoutwithkids.co.uk/ you will see what I require – if you scroll down you can see a list of counties which then filter to the available attraction types, this would then filter by town and show related attractions in nearby areas.

Is this possible to do using GEODirectory?

Regards,
Wes

GeoDirectory will have all the things you’re looking for (and even more..).
You can change location using the switcher, and you can list all the locations with the proper widget (It will be similar to the one you mentioned at the bottom of the website, see it live here).

You’ll find a live demo here.

Cheers,
Wes

Thanks for the clarification. Once I am in a location, I want to be able to then filter by an attraction with a breadcrumb in the form of icons (like http://www.daysoutwithkids.co.uk/norfolk/ linking to http://www.daysoutwithkids.co.uk/animals-nature/norfolk/ etc), is this possible?

As for getting the All Locations on the page, do I need to add all the regions in my Multi-Locations?

Regards,
Wes

You can add the GD Popular Categories widget. When you have navigated to a location page, a list of posts within categories will then show with a count of listings in that location.
See the attached image.
I guess it would be possible to add icons or change to icons only with some coding.

You do not need to add any regions. They will automatically be added once you add an event. That prevents linking to locations without an event.

I am potentially looking to outsource the build for this – basically

1) The SEO URL breadcrumb structure needs to match http://www.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk
2) The look and feel (including the features) needs to match http://www.daysoutwithkids.co.uk

Let me know if anyone is interested and the kind of fee involved.

Thanks,Wes
