Note- the location page should be yourdomain/places or you must change the Geodirectory permalinks (in Geodirectory/Permalinks) using the name you chose as places page

you have the page yoursite.com/location, that is basically the home page. You can change location to whatever you want in GD >> Permalinks.

But the difference between the 2 images is that the one is using the Home/location template, and the other one is using the Listings template.
