June 21, 2019 at 7:58 pm #494232Ok thank you! So this will fix the issue with the correct locations not appearing from the drop down when trying to add an event?
June 21, 2019 at 8:21 pm #494237It looks like everything is selected correctly in the backend? US Virgin Islands, and the British Virgin Islands (but none of the British islands are in the “islands” category). I’m wondering if “virgin islands” needs to be added to the countries list, but that isn’t an option.
June 24, 2019 at 12:40 pm #494473Good Morning,
Does anyone have an update on this or know how I can fix it? I still cannot add events or businesses with the correct location, via the social importer function or in the backend.
Thanks for your help!

June 25, 2019 at 7:14 am #494622Hi Alison,
I checked into your site and found following things.
– There is a JavaScript error due to conflict of select2 jQuery plugin between GeoDirectory & Traveler theme. This JavaScript error breaks rest of JavaScript functionality on the page.
“Traveler” theme overwrites the select2 JavaScript included by GeoDirectory plugin. GeoDirectory plugin includes full version(with additional features) of select2 where as “Traveler” theme includes only basic version(with basic features) of select2. “Traveler” theme uses older select2 library version of 3.5.2 and GeoDirectory uses select2 v4.0.5.Please ask “Traveler” theme developer to update select2 JavaScript file in their theme and also ask them to use full version of select2.
– Update theme Traveler to recent because it is too old(might be developer have updated select2 library in recent version).
– Your site is running with PHP version of 5.5.38, it is recommended a minimum PHP version of 5.6.
– Update WordPress core and some outdated plugins.Let us know how it goes so we can assist you more.
Best Regards,
KiranJuly 17, 2019 at 11:49 am #498154Good Morning! This is the message I received from Shine Theme in regards to updating to select2 Javascript file in their theme and to use the full version of select2 (attached). Is this something we can do without them?
Is it best to do your last three points on a staging site?

July 17, 2019 at 7:47 pm #498261For the select2 issue, you can tell them it is breaking your site because it is causing a conflict with a plugin.
About the updates, we always recommend to attempt and test updates on a staging site.
July 18, 2019 at 5:35 pm #498441Ok, I spoke to an old developer and he mentioned that he could update the files.
I also know the PHP needs to be updated so I contacted godaddy to do that. Godaddy wanted me to make sure that the themes and plugins were all up to date because it could cause a conflict. Should I go ahead and update all of those before updating PHP or update PHP without updating the plugins and themes?
I asked the old developer and he said that if I update the theme, the new files are in it. He said by updating it it would overwrite the old select2 folders?
Thank you for your help!
July 18, 2019 at 9:42 pm #498490Update: I updated the Traveler theme (old dev told me that it had the new select2 files), updated WP and then I went into settings–>location and disabled the default location. THAT WORKED!
Then, I updated a couple of the GD add-on plugins, and I started to get an error when going to visit the website saying it was not secure and the certificate didn’t match (ssl).
I called godaddy on something separate I was working on (needed FTP information to set up scanning with Sucuri) and also asked them about this. He took me through disabling and resetting the SSL. He said it could take a few hours but it should be 30 mins. Sometimes I will go to the site and it looks ok with the exception to the logo and the hero image which dont appear, other times it still says not secure. Any ideas???
Thank you!
July 19, 2019 at 10:49 am #498545Also, now I am getting 404 errors on most of the pages… please help!
