I have been looking forward to the update for some time. But when the update was complete and I viewed the site things went horribly wrong. This is really bad news considering I was planning on soft launching the site this weekend, as we have an event coming up next week where we will be promoting the site 🙁

I am using the GeoDirectory Framework theme (the child theme to be precise) and noticed there was an update for that as well. So I applied it. This solved a couple of the problems, but I am still overwhelmed by the amount of work it will take to get the site back to the way it was before updating.

Below are a list of issues that I have identified and have been unable to find a solution for. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! The url to the dev site is dev.liberty.menu.

1. Main content width: On the homepage I had it set up to be a single column (no side sections). Even though my settings are the same the main content section is aligned to the left and it has the space for a column on the right.

2. None of my listing pages that I have set up work (Had just 2 events so far). Shows Epic 404 message. But the dummy content listings still work. **UPDATE** While writing this post and testing various things on the site they have disappeared entirely. They are still accessible from the back end though.

3. All my widget areas defaulted to the way they were prior to me setting them up. I can fix this obviously, but it is worth mentioning.

4. “My Dashboard” Dropdowns are missing.

5. The listing page map is out in the Pacific ocean, not at the location of the listing.

If I find more things that have gone wonky I’ll post them. PLEASE help admins, I can’t afford to loose any more hair.

But it did not have any effect.

Do you have the same problems if you activate the core GDF theme?

If you don’t provide a link to your website it will be very hard for us to assist you… you can keep it invisible to all members but moderators by flagging the reply as private.

Thx

I did not lose any of that css during the update.

I have not yet tried switching from the child to the core theme. I suppose it’s worth a shot.

The url was provided in my original post above. It is dev.liberty.menu.

I have been fiddling with the site for hours trying to get it back to normal. I think I’ve been through just about every page in the back end to check settings… but to no avail.

I think I’ll also need wp admin credentials in order to actually see your settings.

As far as old css changes goes, that could be part of the problem because we totally rewritten GD templates and css classes have changed.

I’m sorry to announce you this, we would have avoided doing it, if we could, but to achieve what we wanted and for the long term benefit of all members, we really had no choice…

The rest I’m sure is a matter of settings.

Let me know,

Not saying it will help in your case, but it’s quick and easy, so there’s no reason not to try…
