As I come close to launch now I have noticed a potential issue with URL’s locking a user to a location whereas the my directory (and others) are nationwide directories. Let me quickly explain.
One of my place listings (for example) is as follows:
http://www.childcarefinder.ie/childcare/ireland/cork/ballincollig/creche/spraoi-preschool/
Google indexing that page is no problem. The user is not “locked” to any location. However if Google decides to index the following URL the user would be locked to the town “Ballincollig”
http://www.childcarefinder.ie/childcare/ireland/cork/ballincollig
Then, when browsing the site they don’t get to see childcare in other areas that might be beside them. My directory is nationwide… I don’t want users locked to a location. I don’t use the “share location” plugin.
I have coded my “Home” on my websites menu to go to “www.childcarefinder.ie/location” which “clears” any locked location but if a user did get locked to a location, clicking on the logo to go to the homepage would not clear the location.
I have breadcrumbs on my site which would have allowed a user to get locked to a location… but I removed the hyperlink from them so that sorts that problem.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks,
Adrian

Have you any other ideas how I could also reset the location or not lock the location in code?

http://www.showroom.ie
I also need to switch off the Location locking somehow.
