The stars.png file that is used for the ratings have a white background, so the 100% of the sites must have a white background to look correct. Not good.

Please add instead transparent png files so they look correct in any site and background.

I know I can do my own stars, but I don’t want to have to replace the files in each update, its better if they come correct from the source. 🙂

Makes sense ?

Thanks.

The star is transparent, but the background of the image is not.
When a listing is rated, the layer behind the star images changes, and that is why you can see the color change of the stars. If the image was totally transparent, you would just get an orange square instead of a star shape.
I am not sure an image can be devised that works for all page backgrounds.

Or if using the Multirating addon you can create ratings with new styles.

Let us know,

Thanks

If we change the overall rating colour to the page background colour what effect will this have on the rating system. I am just at the start of development of this site and don’t have enough review data to see how this will affect things.

Struggling to get this looking right at present

What you want to change is the default star image, currently a transaprent star on white background. Download the image and with a image editor change the white part to match your page background color.

With photoshop simply use color overlay effect.

Let us know how you went.

Thanks

However just a note – using GDF changing background of page colour does not affect the map bubble so if you have a review and you have done as suggested above the background of the star will show. It isn’t as noticeable but if someone was using a darker background it would be.

I will just alter the bubble background colour to suit the theme

Thank you 🙂
