GeoDirectory SupportRelease of GD 1.4.1 – GeoDirectory Support https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/release-of-gd-1-4-1/feed Sun, 14 Dec 2025 04:21:10 +0000 http://bbpress.org/?v=2.5.14-6684 en-US https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/release-of-gd-1-4-1/#post-34795 <![CDATA[Release of GD 1.4.1]]> https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/release-of-gd-1-4-1/#post-34795 Sat, 21 Mar 2015 17:27:30 +0000 Paolo Dear Members,

version 1.4.0 had a small bug, very difficult to trigger, that while adding a new listing, could create hundreds of duplicates.

Due to the severe problem this could cause and because it was a very easy fix, we decided to release an update today.

No addons updates have been released with it.

Thank you,

The GD Team

I never recommended no Richard Bruce to anyone?

I don’t even know who he is.

GeoDirectory doesn’t endorse any of the developers present in our forums. However we can guarantee that they are all Premium Members just like you. Please ask for references before hiring anyone and use common sense. We don’t take responsability for poor quality jobs and/or missed deadlines

This message is in the right sidebar next top your post…

EDIT:

I’ve now found your post:

https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/need-developer-for-finetuning-and-finishing/

Simone who is part of the team contacted you to do the job for you and you didn’t reply to him. Rich B is a members just like you, definitely not someone recommmended by us.

If you pay via paypal, you should be able to dispute the payment. If you are able to do so, reply to Simone that I’m sure for $500 will not let you down.

Thanks

maps to show on home page, multi city everywhere option, and more. while we’ve been “finding” and “fixing” as we come across them, is this expected behavior or odd. is there a change alert that would let us know in advance to make immediate corrections?

I would ask you to avoid updating ext time we release anything and alert us so we can do it together and verify.

Updating shouldn’t create such problem unless you are also doing something else….

If updating was creating a similar problem, it would create it for every website using our plugins and you would see thousands of new topics about this every week.

Updates can’t wipe out options because the upgrade script doesn’t change any saved option. The only thing that would do something similar is if you activated a new theme.

If you update following our suggestion, nothing should change:

1) Never deactivate core or addons before updating.
2) Update core 1st alone
3) Update all addons together

Thanks

to update there is no need to deactivated anything.

Just update core first, than all addons together.

Thank you

Is it save to update to GD 1.4.1 from GD 1.2.7 (WP 4.0.1)?

Do I need to deactivate GD plugin when updating to new WP (from WP 4.0.1 to 4.1.1)?

Best regards,
Dmitri

you don’t need to deactivate GD when updating WP.

It is safe to update to the newest version, make sure you also upload all addons and right after having updated them all, go to GeoDirectory >> GD Tools and run the Database convertion tool.

Make sure to have plugin and addons all updated before running that script or it will make a bigger mess.

Let us know how you went,

Thanks
