http://wpgeo.directory/hotels/5-stars/

I want to narrow the search results to “New York”, so I type New York into the “Near” entry field. The search results are the same, it still includes Chicago, so it is unclear to me what the “Near” search field is supposed to do, or if it is broken in this release?

Similar results here…

You are performing a proxmity search in the everywhere location. Not a search for result ONLY in New York.

The results will be order by proximity and that exactly what is doing.

If you want to see hotel ONLY in New York, you need to change location and browse away from Everywhere city.

Thanks

Maybe something to look at in the future?

I hadn’t noticed the distance values in the search results, that makes more sense. I wonder how hard it would be to filter the results based on a defined distance?

I also noticed that the first result shows the distance in meters, and subsequent results are in miles?

For this, u have to enable advance search adons. Once u enable it, go to
Geodirectory > Place Settings > Advance Search (tab) and configure Search by distance filter

Please advise ?
