Since we also have another theme installed with a blog, can I add a user role specifically for GD listings? One that does not show up as an author?

Thanks!

I am guessing you have that set to “Author”, so new users are automatically added as authors.

I’ve created all of the listing pages for our new site. I have a feeling I also need to create a user account for each one and then switch the author, correct?

If this is the case, is there an easy way to do it quickly?

Normally a listing belongs to a user, and only that user [and admin] can edit the listing from the frontend. But if you don’t want anybody to be able to edit from the frontend, then it does not really matter.

You can change them by setting your users to auto role, and then assign them to the listing. Then set the users back to their normal role.

Faster way, especially with high numbers, is to export your listings, change the userID of the listing owner and re-import:

I have over 150 clients that I’ll need to add for GD. We also have a blog with several authors.

1) My concern with setting the GD clients to the Author role, is that I’ll have to sort through all their names when I need to enter an author for a blog post.

2) However, some of the existing blog authors are also clients.

Thoughts or ideas on how best to deal with this?

But, like I said, you can set them back to subscriber after you have added them.

Also, look at the second suggestion I gave: Faster way, especially with high numbers, is to export your listings, change the userID of the listing owner and re-import:
