    Hi there,

I am still getting the “Oops! Something went wrong. This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.” message instead of the Google map.

Here is the site we are setting up: http://debsvillage.com/

I installed the API KEY for Google Maps plugin and got a Google Maps API KEY, but I am still not getting a map. I read that if the “Google Maps script has been enqueued correctly” it should work. I am afraid I don’t know what that means and thus don’t know how to fix it. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi,

with GeoDirectory you don’t need that plugin. GeoDirectory includes and option to add the API key via Design >> Map.

Did you follow this tutorial step by step? https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/add-google-api-key/

    Let us know,

    Thanks

    Hi

I am getting this error also.

I have used the API key and that seems to be set up.

I will post my details below.

    Hi RIchard,

I created an api key for your website to test with my account and it worked fine. I removed them now, please create them again by following this carefully: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/add-google-api-key/

If you get an error that says: “You don’t have permission to create an API key” when creating the key, please see this: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/google-api-problem/#post-220300

Let us know how you went,

    Thanks

    Hey Paolo,

Thanks but I have tried it and still no luck

On this page it says request denied when I try searching

    http://thecosmeticdirectory.com/claim-my-business/

and on the listing detail page, the directions are saying that there is no address found.

    http://thecosmeticdirectory.com/cosmetic/united-kingdom/merseyside/liverpool/category-cosmetic/mr-shaun-hearnden/

I have just moved it from a test server and all these problems are coming up. I never had to use the google API on the previous version which is here.

    http://website-design-liverpool.co.uk/cos-direct/cosmetic/united-kingdom/merseyside/liverpool/category-cosmetic/mr-shaun-hearnden/

Its just after I moved it these problems are happening.
(is there a way of me moving the site without affecting the plugin so much?)

    thanks again for your help

    Hi,

the Google Maps API issue came up on June 22nd when Google changed their TOS for the use of their API.

Webiste created after that date MUST use an API key. You wouldn’t have had this problem if you moved the website on the 21st or before.

We wrote a blog post about it : https://wpgeodirectory.com/google-maps-api-key-and-new-limits/

I tested your website with an API key I created and it worked just fine.

Please attach screenshots of the settings of your API key and we will check what is wrong.

    Thanks

    Hi Richard,

please try to delete this key and create a new one.

    Only add:

    *.thecomesticdirectory.com/*
    AND
    thecomesticdirectory.com

    Avoid all the rest.

Let us know how you went.

If you give me access to your google account and i try to access it from my IP they will block it.

    Thanks

    Hey Paolo,

I tried to create a new project and just used the two APIs as such but still no luck.

Can I you use your API for a few hours so I can try and diagnose it?

    Cheers 🙂

    No worries fixed 🙂

I had to create a new gmail account and followed the steps again and it worked?

Must of been some sort of glitch with my account.

But now there is a payment problem 🙁

    see attached screenshot
