In many cases the user (myself included sometimes) does not realize they have “locked” their search results to a narrow location. For example, if I end up looking for a listing in Western Ontario Canada and end up choosing Ontario as my location by clicking on the “ontario” breadcrumb and then wish to search for a city on the eastern zone of Manitoba I would get a “no records” found only because I don’t realize I’m searching only in Ontario. It would be great if there was a reminder in such a situation to the user something like:
“No Records found – your search was limited to your current location: Ontario”. You may wish to broaden your location area using the Location Switcher.”
I can’t imagine that even those of us who are very familiar with Multi Location module have not made that mistake ourselves and not wondered how can I be getting “No Records”
Is there currently a way to do this or is it something GD might consider implementing. I think it would go a long way to solving what is the most cumbersome aspect of the system.
