i use with GD WPML.
i have a standard eng url, for example:

http://museum-advisor.com/places/italy/tuscany/florence/museums/galleria-degli-uffizi/

i would like to have an italian url like

http://museum-advisor.com/places/italia/toscana/firenze/musei/galleria-degli-uffizi/

Now, the category translation is ok, but how can i modify the option about the geo informations that are showed in the url (italia/toscana/firenze/) ?

is it possible?

Since i worked for 5 years in Navteq and Tele Atlas it seems impossible to me that your platform can’t automatically change the url according the various languages, expecially with the “compatible” plugin WPML…

WordPress doesn’t manage location, so WPML wasn’t built for that.

We would have to create a WPML add-on (and we are not interested) to tell WPML how to recognize GD Locations and be able to translate them all.

In addition you would need to potentionally translate thousands of regions and hundreds of thousands if not millions of cities, depending hwow big you directory is, making you location database potentionally bigger than what should be your core business (listings).

If you need a custom made application such as those probably used in your previous experiences, you would be looking at spending several thousands of USD for both the application and the server configuration.
