here is a link:

1. how does a user upgrade, i setup up a free and paid plan but go to a 404 page when trying to upgrade. I am logged in as admin and created the listing via the wordpress admin

2. is there a basic user setup guide for this plugin or a video?

On The listing details page from the front end there should be a upgrade button, i would try adding all your listings from the front end to avoid any errors at first.
