Instead of using the location navigation switcher I have created an ubermenu and manually assigned urls that match the output of the url when switching location. i.e. my domain.com/places/united-states/california/san-diego/

By having a custom menu with our locations seems to work and all the location/category features respond to being at the correct location.

This seems to be true when I change to a new location. Does the location switcher do anything else other than direct to a url.

Am I likely to run into any problems by disabling the location switcher and integrating locations manually into our menu?
