Does this sound right?

Yes as Guust pointed out, you need a post_id in order to update a listing

Just did some testing on that. Thanks!

Kinda a dumb question – but just checking before I start the import – and don’t want to create long-term problems if it matters: Can I just come up with any number for post_id as long as its not taken? i.e. It doesn’t have to be sequential?

Thanks so much!

under no circumstances you should add ids when importing new listings.

They will be added automatically by the database and you shouldn’t be messing with it’s internal counting, you could be assigning an ID used by an option or a comment without knwowing and potentially crash your website.

To have the file to edit with IDs, that you can re-import and update the listings, you can export it.

It will come with the automatically assigned IDs already.

Thanks
