GD is technically fantastic. I keep coming back to GD as one of the best directory option around. However, I’m yet to figure out, how to get it working with a theme having good frontend. I have subscription of multiple theme shops and those are not among the supported list as of now. So I bought Divi yday, thinking it will make my life easy. However, I was not happy with result, when I integrated GD with Divi.

To cut it short, next step for the GD team could be partnering up with quality theme shops (Elegant, Gavick, Studiopress) and come up with nice looking prototypes/themes. You can also sell themes and GD as a combo or may be create a new theme.

I’m seeing few of people trying out GD here and then resorting to some good looking (but not a quality solution). Unfortunately I’m also going to be one of those. I don’t mind paying 200+ bucks for a quality working directory theme, but I hate struggling with theme and plugin integration.
