March 25, 2015 at 10:05 pm #35243Hi Darren
As far as I know you should not mix http and https on your site, it could lead to a very bad user experience.
I’ll alert Paolo to your topic too.March 25, 2015 at 11:08 pm #35248Is your website set to https or http? (in the WordPress settings/General).
You should set the address to https so all your urls will be with the https
March 26, 2015 at 2:33 pm #35276Please let us know if this is resolved.
Thanks
March 26, 2015 at 5:44 pm #35310Still looking into it, the last time i changed it in settings from http to https the site went down for some time so i’m a little unsure if i want to try it again. also i still can’t find anything in Birmingham in the search bar. and i can’t seem to find how to add the Near Me Button to the top menu.
Darren
March 26, 2015 at 6:11 pm #35313the Near Me Button is a widget and will require a widget area to add it near the top menu.
You could also add it programattically with the_widget() WordPress API function https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/the_widget, using the filter wp_nav_menu_items
https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/hooks/wp_nav_menu_items/
You will find plenty of examples via google on how to use that filter.
Fort the search problem we would need a URL and wp admin credentials please.
Thanks

March 27, 2015 at 3:39 pm #35385Hi,
this is what I get if I search window cleaner in birmingham: http://idleme.com/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=window+cleaning&snear=&set_location_type=3&set_location_val=15&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=
ù
You can move out from that city, because you don’t have the location switcher in place. I thought by now this would be clear to all members…Thanks
March 28, 2015 at 12:00 pm #35432Hi Paulo
you have used the autofill to find birmingham, if you just type birmingham then hit the search button it finds nothing.
http://idleme.com/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=window+cleaner&snear=birmingham&sgeo_lat=33.5206608&sgeo_lon=-86.80248999999998if i search for any other major city in the same way then it works i.e. london, manchester, liverpool etc.. so i can’t see why it won’t find anything for birmingham?
also i only removed the location switcher the other day as i didn’t see the point of having it there. now i know you can’t reset the search field without it i may have put it back in.
my other concerns are that if you use the autocomplete then it show shows listing in that city and not around that city. i will have a play around with the autocomplete on or off and see what happens.

Please check now, there was a problem detecting the homepage url with the https, i have changed this in core and maps etc work now.
The featured member widget you talk about is a slider widget and can only be used once on the page (you have it twice).
Thanks,
Stiofan
March 28, 2015 at 4:54 pm #35468Hi,
for the search part, Google Maps API is returning Lat and Long for a Birmingham in Alabama.
If you search for “birmingham uk” it works.
Thanks
