Hello, I want to add a booking button to every place. Every place has an own link to a booking website. Under place settings I added “URL” and uploaded an icon. Now I want the icon to be the link and not the frontend title.

Is that possible? How do I do that? What do I have to change in place settings?

    Hi Konstanze,

You can start by creating a “Custom Field” for your places. Check out this section of the documentation and see if it helps. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#custom

    Thanks!

    Hello Kor Chung
I created a custom field already using “URL”. Then I uploaded the icon. Now I want the icon to be the link and not the frontend title. How does that work?

    Hi,

I don’t think that is even possible. If I were in you, I’d remove the icon and add a css class, than use CSS to hide the frontend title and replace it with the icon you want to make it a button.

    examples: https://css-tricks.com/css-image-replacement/

Let us know if you need help with this.

    Thanks

    Hi,

1st of all, this is CSS, so code snippet is not needed.

You’ll need to add the css code in GeoDirectory >> Design >> Scripts >> Custom CSS.

In both front end title and class you can add whatever you want and than use the CSS chosen, by adapting it with the class used for that custom field.

Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks,

p.s. remember that this is considered a customization, so if these information are not clear (css vs php and so on), you should hire a freelance developer to help you out.

    All this is beyond support.
