Map and Menu Setup

Hi there
I have bought the Geodirectory package some time ago and spend a lot of time figuring out how to set things up. However I still don’t manage to set up my site how I want it.

Here are the biggest problems for now:
1) I don’t manage to set up the GD map on the home page. If I pull it into the area in the customization menu of the theme (GD modern – premium!) it does not appear. I have tried to put it in different sections or on other pages and I don’t get a satisfactory result.

2) I have problems to set up the menu. The way I want it is the following:
– A home page with map and some featured listings and option to add listings (a button would be cool). Further I would like to have a search bar, but white on black and not the GD-grey. Problems: map (see above); add listing option is part of the menu and does not work; can’t adapt the search bar color.
– Several other tabs (shown in the top menu):
–> 1 Listings tab with a list of all businesses where the user can sort by geography (country, city), name and other details
–> several content pages

Problem: I know how to change the menu (Appearance -> Menus) but I am confused about the GD features. Especially I don’t want an “Add Listing” tab which does not work.
