Add a custom CPT in Main search bar?

Hello,

We are adding some custom searchable fields to our directory. For example, we are categorizing businesses by their memberships in local organizations such as a chamber.

We have created a new field called local_memberships and have included it in the search box, however, it shows up once you click the gear.

Is there a way to have it show in the main bar? Like I see Categories has an option “Show in main search bar?” to check. Can we do that fo our new field? It is a dropdown just like categories.
