Hi, is it possible to create common tags across multiple post types?

I have created a number of different post types – eg, Accommodation, Entertainment, Childrens – and I would like to create tags that are applicable to all post types (these would be disability types, eg, ‘Mobility’, ‘Hearing’, ‘Vision’). Is there a way to create common tags for all post types?

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your post. I believe you’re referring to “custom fields”. Could you check out this section of the documentation and see if it’s what you’re looking for? https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#custom

    Thanks!

    Hi Kor,

Thanks for getting back to me. Would I need to create the same custom field for each post type? And in that case, if I was to conduct a search across all post types for a specific custom field value, could the search easily return listings from all post types?

    Thanks,
    Andrew

You cannot search across different CPTs at the same time. Not for tags and not for custom fields.
    Thanks
