Seriously, Location Manager controls Maps? Come on. Why is stuff in GeoDirectory constantly in areas that make zero sense to end users, or even integrators?
Maps should be a CORE GD Setting, unless you want to break Maps out to an extension. One should not have to have a plugin, just to control something already in the core plugin, especially if they may not need any of the core features of said plugin, other than to simply turn off maps.
More cases in point:
- Reviews should be a CORE GD Settings toggle. If something is in the core, its controls SHOULD BE IN THE CORE.
- Import Dummy/Sample content is both in AyeCode (for some bizarre reason), and under Settings > Dummy Content.
- Directory Images are a wildly disorganized mess, all over the place (literally and figuratively), yet only way to find is to do an export. They are not in Media, or even in their own CPT/CCT (if they are aiming for efficiency).
- AyeCode is required to connect to a site, but does not deal with updates. WP Updates deals with updates, yet does not connect the sites. AyeCode handles demo content. Either make those two plugins make sense (to non-AyeCode employees), or make them one. AyeCode also gives the ability to bulk import dummy content, potentially royally $%^&ing up a website in minutes, and is available to anyone with back-end access.
- Directory Migration process is the most convoluted process of ANY WP plugin, arguably forever.
Yes, I am EXTREMELY frustrated with GeoDirectory. We have used it for going on a decade, and while some things have gotten better, so many things that SHOULD have gotten better are still like we are stuck in a time warp back to 1990's NCSA Mosaic days.
I get that if you are an AyeCode employee, some of this stuff might make some sense, but for once, would AyeCode start walking in our shoes, if they expect us to walk in their's?
